Henry Fessy Beaujolais Blanc is a rare and refreshing white Beaujolais that is grown on granite soils. This terroir produces a Chardonnay of great finesse, revealing notes of white flowers and acacia on the nose and yellow fruits, notably mirabelle plums, in the mouth.

Fine purple in colour, the nose is pure and classic with aromas of red fruit with a light vegetal hint. It has good minerality on the palate with huge density of fruit both red and black and there is a fine structure and elegance to keep the wine fresh in the mouth with a remarkable long finish.

Chiroubles, La Scandaleuse is the new name for their former Côte Rôtie cuvée, after the Rhone appellation complained, which the family thought was a scandal. Lovely purple colour, tightly knit, very engaging with deep raspberry fruit. Some pepper too, extremely good, a lovely wealth of fruit on the palate and an excellent perfumed finish.

This astonishingly well made and vibrant Beaujolais-Villages wine demonstrates the versatility of the Gamay grape though richly assertive with fabulously deep, dark cherry and plum flavours and a long, savoury finish, it remains freshly mineral on the palate. Exciting now, but will improve with age.

Beaujolais is, at its best, a deeply pleasurable wine and Morel's wines encapsulate this style better than most. The colour is vibrant ruby red with flecks of purple. It displays fine, elegant cherry blossom and red berries on the nose, with gentle spice. The palate is concentrated and juicy with underlying tannins to support the ripe fruit of this vintage. It is pure and fresh on the long berry fruit finish.
