Denis Jamain Les Fossiles Reuilly Blanc is a very solid example of Sauvignon Blanc from the eastern Loire. It is Sancerre-like, yet with all the minerality of a good Chablis, and this can be explained as the soils here sit on the same prized kimmeridgian limestone, as is connected to Chablis.

The Coteaux de Giennois is a small wine growing region that can be found just north of both Sancerre and Pouilly Fume. Whilst this area is quite unknown in wine circles it is rapidly catching up with its neighbours. This wine is certainly of a similar quality and style, but currently demands lower prices and therefore offers excellent value for money.
