A medium-bodied style featuring a fleshy, fruit-layered palate integrated with earthy complexity. Juicy acidity, characteristic of this vineyard, underlays soft expansive fruit and fine dusty tannins. In true Yarra Yering tradition, it combines power with poise, concentration with finesse. 97 Points, James Halliday Wine Companion.

Château Lafon does not mark its elegance under the misleading framing of too much oak , preferring to assert its "personnalité médoquine" with a wine which is finely tannic and elegant, and a lingering finish that leaves a lovely note on the palate.

Galena is a wine with an intense cherry red colour, where we try to express what our terroir is. The mineral character the wine has is unique from this terroir, always present, which provides freshness. Galena presents a remarkable aromatic complexity and a wealth of nuances, with aromas dominated by balsamic notes, black fruits as well as jams, with a light touch of black spices. Full bodied in the mouth, powerful but with tannins that soften with time in bottle. This wine has a very good ageing potential.

In Chateau Labadie Medoc juicy Merlot represents just over half the blend with 46% Cabernet Sauvignon and a dash a crunchy Cab Franc. Expect aromas of ripe black fruit, and a hint of cedar from one year in oak (25% new). Yields at Labadie are restricted, resulting in wines of impressive concentration, which age exceptionally well. Still, with its rounded tannins and refreshing acidity, this is difficult to resist now.
