Langlois Chateau Coteaux du Layon Prestige 2014
Coteaux du Layon is the widest wine area of the Anjou region. Along the Layon river, the vines are protected by the hills in this lovely contryside. Although wine makers produce a good semi-dry white wine, Coteaux du Layon is best known for its sweet white wine which is over 15 centuries old. The vignerons leave the grapes on their vines until over-ripe. This provides the wine with its concentrated taste and high sugar content.
This superb dessert wine has a delightful mix of aromas, including honeysuckle, peach, quince-jelly, acacia honey and orange blossom. The mouth is gently sweet with lovely tropical fruit flavours, and is held in supreme balance by zesty citrus fruits and acidity.
