An interesting blend of Riesling, Riesling Italico and Moscato. Intense and ample bouquet with floral notes and pleasant hints of fruits. To the palate, the wine is very fresh and easy-drinking. Extremely versatile and immediate.
2. The Wolftrap White, Western Cape, South Africa, £9.99 (1 bottle)
A fabulous blended white wine. It has a striking aroma of fruit blossom mingling with spicy, baked apple aromas. The palate is equally as interesting with fresh green fruits, again with a definite spicy character. The ripeness of the vintage is clear on the finish, where a tropical note comes through.
3. Vachnadziani Krakhuna Dry White, Georgia, £12.29 (1 bottle)
Made 100% from Krakhuna grapes, cultivated in the valley of river Kvirila, in West Georgia. Concentrated citrus notes on the nose, with harmonious freshness on the palate.
4. Esteva Douro Tinto, Douro, Portugal, £9.99 (1 bottle)
Perfumed and intense, with floral notes of rose, spicy notes of black pepper and aromas of red fruits. It is smooth on the palate, with well-integrated acidity giving exceptional freshness and vivacity. Polished tannins support floral aromas and fresh red fruits. The finish is elegant and balanced.
5. Cuatro Pasos Mencia, Bierzo, Spain, £11.29 (1 bottle)
Morello cherry red in colour with violet reflections. The varietal aromas of red fruits dominate the bouquet with a subtle hint of vanilla from the oak toasting. The palate is elegant and balanced, with a fruit-driven finish.
6. Famille Perrin Ventoux Rouge, Rhone, France, £11.49 (1 bottle)
From the slopes of Mount Ventoux also known as the “giant of Provence” and a famous climb in the Tour de France. A nice dark ruby colour. The nose shows ripened cherry, black berries jam, spicy and leather notes. A round, fruity and ample mouth. Stewed fruit linked with liquorice and grilled aromas together with a slight minerality.
