This classic Burgundian variety has been produced in the sunny climate of Languedoc in the south of France. Although much warmer than the cool climate of the Cote d'Or great care has been taken to ensure that it is every bit as elegant. The nose is aromatic with fresh cherries, strawberry and bramble and just the faintest hint of vanilla. On the palate there is tremendous depth to the fruit which is supported by an underlying minerality and beautifully balanced acidity.

This astonishingly well made and vibrant Beaujolais-Villages wine demonstrates the versatility of the Gamay grape though richly assertive with fabulously deep, dark cherry and plum flavours and a long, savoury finish, it remains freshly mineral on the palate. Exciting now, but will improve with age.

The eclectic blend is aged for 18 months in new Seguin Moreau oak. The varieties work together well on the nose, which reveals elegant notes of raspberry, wild strawberry, cocoa and rosemary. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. The fruit profile is red rather than black, with a smooth, harmonious texture and attractive notes of cedar and dried orange peel on the finish. This is another superb wine from Pulenta Estate.
