Best Tasting Amaretto Liqueur

Our real Amaretto will make you forget other Amarettos – 3 Star Great Taste Winner 2019.

Could be the best tasting real Amaretto Liqueur in UK?

Handcrafted using the best fresh almonds and top quality base spirits, therefore a real Amoretto.

This Amaretto is miles away from various modern commercial brands which often do not even use almonds.

They generally use a base of apricot pits or peach pits as sources of the “almond-like” flavours.

Everybody will notice the difference in both taste and texture!

Very soft on the palate, with an elegant fresh smooth finish.

This real amoretto is excellent, enjoyed slightly chilled on its own, or with coffee at the end of a meal.

Fantastic to make a delicious Amaretto Sour cocktail too!

The Hay Wines real Amaretto is available in 50cl bottle.

Our real Amaretto, made from real almonds

Artisan distillers Piolo & Max always pay special attention to the quality of the raw materials.

The use of fresh almonds and top quality base spirits is essential to reach the level of depth of flavours typical of this real Amoretto liqueur.

About Piolo & Max, the makers of the real Amaretto

Two young liqueur producers from Trieste, who in 2003 embarked on an adventure running a small business creating their own liqueurs and spirits.

For them there is no magic formula, but a true passion and love for the work they do.

They always pay special attention to the quality of the raw materials, all strictly natural and when possible organic.

Their little “workshop of spirits” is in the heart of Trieste.

This is also a place where everyone is always welcome to drop by at any time to taste new flavours… and test their latest inventions including our Amaretto!

Italian Liqueurs: a tradition of quality

Italy is not only and simply known for its fine wines, but also for a high number of liqueurs and spirits, like Amaretto.

Italians mainly enjoy this kind of products as an after-dinner digestive, but they are often important ingredients for desserts.

Moniack Mead

Rating:
Moniack Mead is a traditional honey mead which is produced at Moniack Castle by Highland Wineries, and is said to be one of the best meads being made in modern times. Mead is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks known in history and, like all meads, Moniack Mead is produced through the process of fermenting honey. An interesting fact about mead is that it is traditionally drunk for the month after a wedding which is where the word “honeymoon” came from. Moniack Mead has a lovely, lingering and smooth flavour with elements of caramel and fermented honey. Our recommendation is that this mead is best served either chilled or if you prefer as a aperitif. 75cl bottle

Racy Raspberry Gin Liqueur

This naturally sweet Raspberry Gin is part of our own range of Gin liqueurs. As with all our fruit Gins, this is made in the same way as Sloe Gin. Ingredients are only Raspberries, "Export Strength" London Dry Gin, water and sugar. Probably the sweetest drink in the range, but this sweetness is really a product of the natural fruit rather than sugar. This is a fabulous colour and you will love trying this on the rocks. Available in 35cl bottle and 70cl bottle

Rakish Rhubarb Gin Liqueur

This beautiful Rhubarb Gin is part of our own range of Gin liqueurs. Compounded the old fashioned way - the way you probably make Sloe Gin at home - by steeping diced rhubarb in London Dry Gin. We added sugar at the end of the process as we wanted to keep the tartness and sweetness nicely balance. Excellent with different mixers, but also incredibly balanced if consumed neat. Available in 35cl bottle and 70cl bottle

Mandarine Napoleon

Mandarine Napoléon is an exquisite, well-balanced blend of mandarins and refined 10-year-old aged cognac. Dating back to the early 1800s, and its roots stemming from the hands of Napoléon Bonaparte, the liqueur’s history is as rich as its distinctive flavor. The drink was custom made for Napoléon, after the emperor came across chemist Antoine-François de Fourcroy, known for his extraordinary skill of distilling. It was not until 1892, after the two had died, that the liqueur was introduced to the public.
