Andeluna 1300 Malbec

Andeluna 1300 Malbec has a great colour intensity with violet hues. Aromas of diverse fruits and flowers, with notes of "dulce de leche", vanilla and chocolate given by its ageing in oak barrels. Smooth attack in the mouth, typical of this variety. Balanced, full bodied with soft tannins.

Andeluna was founded in 2003 by the late Ward Lay whose family had interests in many industries and
companies including Frito-Lay and Pepsico. The winery and vineyards cover 70 hectares in the beautiful Uco
Valley near Tupungato, one of the best sub-regions of Mendoza. By night you can often see the moon
illuminating the magnificent Andes Mountains nearby and the winery has been named after this stunning
scene. At an altitude of 1,300 metres these vineyards produce some of the best fruit in Argentina. Their new
winemaker, Manuel Gonzalez (previously Head Winemaker at Pulenta Estate and Chief Enologist at Trivento)
works alongside Andeluna's wine consultant Hans Vinding Diers making outstanding wines which have
propelled this producer into the world spotlight in a very short space of time.

Premium quality wine starts with premium quality grapes, and this is the essence of Andeluna. Andeluna cultivates traditional varietals like Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc in its vineyards located in Tupungato, Mendoza at more than 1300 meters (4300 feet) above see level.

Grapes come from our vineyards located in Tupungato at an altitude of 1,300 metres above sea level. The vines
are irrigated by a drop-water system that regulate and supply the exact amount of water that the plant needs.
Canopy management ensures a yield of less than 10,000kg per hectare.
After hand selecting the very best bunches, the grapes are destemmed and undergo prefermentation maceration
at low temperatures. Afterwards the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks at around 26C. Pumping over is
carried out three times a day. The wine is then aged in French and American oak for six months and then aged
for a further six months in the bottle before release.

Andeluna 1300 is a wine that clearly breaks away from the rest of its kind, due to both, the intensity of its colors and the expressiveness of the ripe fruit that permeates its flavors. An exalted representative of the New World wines, it has an excellent quality/price ratio
