Auchentoshan 12 YO 40%

Auchentoshan 12 YO 40% has flavours of Creme brulee, a burst of citrus and the signature nuttiness and green leafiness of Auchentoshan.

Auchentoshan 12 YO 40% – Smooth and sweet with hints of tangerine and lime. Gingery and slightly drying, with a pleasant lingering nuttiness

Auchentoshan, meaning `Corner of the field’ in Gaelic, produces a delicate, smooth and light single Malt Whisky.

The subtle aroma and flavour of its Spirit is achieved by the unique Triple Distillation process, whereby the spirit is not distilled twice, as elsewhere in Scotland, but instead, distilled three times producing even greater refinement to its character.  http://www.auchentoshan.com/products/our-range.aspx

It’s more time consuming. It’s more expensive. And it’s also absolutely unique – no other Single Malt Scotch Whisky goes beyond two distillations for every drop.

Why do we persist? The extra distillation takes our spirit to around 81% – not 70%. This dramatically affects the character of the new make spirit, helping to create a subtle whisky that matures beautifully in oak.

The wash still receives the 8% alcohol wash from the wash backs. We heat this to 94 degrees Celsius, which moves the vaporised alcohol slowly up this elegant still, and through the lyne arm towards the condenser.

The shape of our stills really matters. The elegant forms allow the gentle flavours to become enriched, while leaving much of the heavier character behind

Auchentoshan distillery (/?x?n?t???n/ awkh-?n-taw-sh?n) is a Single Malt whisky distillery in the west of Scotland.

The name Auchentoshan is from Gaelic Achadh an t-Oisein (Scottish Gaelic pronunciation: [ax?? ?n? t????]) and translates as “the field of the corner”.

The distillery is also known as “Glasgow’s Malt Whisky” due to its close proximity to Glasgow and “the breakfast whisky” due to its sweet and delicate nature.

Auchentoshan is located at the foot of the Kilpatrick hills on the outskirts of Clydebank in West Dunbartonshire near the Erskine Bridge.

It is one of six malt whisky distilleries in the Scottish Lowlands along with Bladnoch, Glenkinchie and recently Daftmill Distillery, Annandale Distillery and Ailsa Bay Distillery.

Clynelish 14YO

You can almost taste the coastal flora in Clynelish Single Malt Scotch Whisky, with its crisp, medium- bodied, mustard-fresh style. Although you won’t find Islay’s powerful smokiness here, there is just a trace of it lingering. It’s said Clynelish whisky is closer to an Island style than other mainland malts, with a complex and fragrant nose and an agreeable long finish that leaves a lingering fresh-fruity flavour. Not a heavyweight, it is yet deliciously drinkable, and perfect as an aperitif.

Unusually for a speyside this is quite heavily peated in a style more common over 100 years ago. An explosion of aromatic peat reek, with fragrant hints of honey, fruit and mellow oak. On the palate an avalanche of peat, followed by an extravagant and complex mix of fruit, heather, nuts, oak wood and spices.
