Benriach 22YO Peated Single Malt

Benriach 22YO Peated Single Malt is full of elegant aromas of ripe figs, fresh black cherries and a profusion of sweet peat. A huge pungent blast of peat smoke emerges, partnering the peated element perfectly. Full bodied and audacious.

The Benriach ‘Albariza’ is a limited production, second edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled from peated malted barley, matured in American oak casks and then finished in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks.

Established in 1898 by the Grant family on the same site as Longmorn Distillery, Benriach Distillery was mothballed after just two years of production following the ‘Pattison Crash’. In 1965 the distillery was re-opened by Glenlivet Distillers after a period that saw most of the distillery re-built. In 1978 Benriach was purchased by Canadian whisky firm, Seagrams and as a result of the need to step up production, Benriach was extended from two stills to four.

Located in the north-east region of Morayshire, the Heartland of Malt Scotch Whisky, Benriach displays all the traditional charm of a Speyside distillery.

In 2004 the distillery was acquired by an independant consortium and has become possibly the most exciting and innovative distillery in Scotland. This independent ownership allows the distillery to experiment with several interesting wood finishes and it continues to produce whisky from both peated and non-peated malted barley. The BenRiach portrays its own uniqueness through the particular methods and skills of the men who craft the whisky, the ingredients used, the distinctive copper stills and the high quality casks selected for maturation.

Glenfarclas 15 YO

An incredible dram from Glenfarclas, we can't say enough about it. It's a juicy, Christmas cake of a whisky, absolutely huge! This 15 year old matured in sherry wood, a superb malt which earned 95 points from Jim Murray. A lot of the whisky in this is clearly much older than 15 years, this is a really sherried dram and we love it.
