Morton Estate Coniglio Chardonnay

Coniglio Chardonnay: dizzled honey combined with vanilla bean works in unison to provide a complex aroma that is silky and fluent.

The initial contact with the palate, Coniglio Chardonnay instantly reflects the reason that the Coniglio is only produced in vintages of exceptional quality.

Coniglio Chardonnay has caramel, butterscotch, toffee and a hint of smoked manuka enriches the palate.

The flavours combine elegantly to leave a long, lengthy full flavour, long after the back of the throat has been graced.

Coniglio is a legacy of Proprietor John M Coney. “Coney” is a type of rabbit so it was apt that they named their supreme award-winning wine “Coniglio”, which is Italian for the same animal.

This crafted Chardonnay is exquisitely packed in individual boxes and each bottle is wrapped and numbered to reflect its uniqueness.

Only a very limited amount is produced at a time, making this an exclusive wine set to impress.

It is a wine of exceptional style and elegance, hand crafted from the finest Chardonnay fruit grown in their unique Hawkes Bay vineyard at Riverview.

Produced only in years when the fruit achieves absolute perfection, hand selection and whole bunch pressing have created a style that is seamless and the pinnacle of the winemaker’s art.

The grand rounded gables of The Wine Portfolio’s Cellar Door are a distinctive feature of the lush green pastures of Katikati, New Zealand.

Since 1978 the estate has been a place where wine making is seen as an art, not just a business.

New Zealand’s temperate, maritime climate and rich, free-draining volcanic soils have brought new intense flavours and styles to the world wine market.

With vineyards in prime locations such as Hawkes Bay and Marlborough,

The Wine Portfolio combines the finest grapes with the best winemaking techniques, as well as passion from their dedicated winemakers. (http://www.wineportfolio.co.nz/wineportfolio/about-us/)

They have taken the boutique winery approach to winemaking by controlling the entire process – from grafting their own cuttings, developing their own vineyards and viticultural techniques, and investing in the best technology possible.

Owning 503 planted hectres of vineyards, The Wine Portfolio has a secure supply of grapes that are grown specifically to match their wine styles.
