Creme de Framboise Briottet is a Raspberry Cream and is made by macerating ripe raspberries, the raspberries are soaked in a water-alcohol solution for a minimum period of two months.

Maison Briottet is a family business, founded in 1836. Originally, the family were primarily negociants of Burgundy wine, involved with ageing, blending, bottling and selling the wines.

Following the development of the blanc cassis aperitif (white wine with Crème de Cassis), the company progressively focused its activities on producing fruit crèmes, liquors, brandies and marcs de Bourgogne.

The current managing director, Gérard Briottet, represents the fourth generation, and maintains the traditions started by his great grandfather, Edmond Briottet.

Dijon Crème de Cassis (Dijon blackcurrant cream), liqueurs

A former wine establishment, our firm was set up in 1836. Given the growing popularity of the "white wine-cassis" aperitif, Edmond Briottet little by little stopped operating as a wine trader and instead switched over gradually to producing Crème de Cassis.

Since then, each successive generation of the Briottet family has worked at the firm.

While crème de cassis is a specialty of Burgundy, it is also made in Anjou, Luxembourg, Quebec and Tasmania.

The quality of crème de cassis depends upon the variety of fruit used, the content of the berries, and the production process. If it is labelled "Crème de Cassis de Dijon," one is guaranteed berries from the commune of Dijon.

In 2015, the new protected geographical indication (PGI) “Crème de Cassis de Bourgogne” has been approved. Promoted by a syndicate of fruit producers and liqueurs companies from Burgundy.

This "Crème de Cassis de Bourgogne" guarantees the burgundian origin and the minimum quantity of berries used in its production, essentially the variety Noir de Bourgogne.
