Description

Attractive floral notes underline the pungent, aromatic raspberry fruit aromas. The palate is full of deliciously ripe cherry and raspberry fruit flavours with lovely nuances of honey and grapefruit.

Produced from Douro red grapes through an innovative technique which extracts fresh, fruity flavours and delivers a subtle and delicate pink colour. The vinification method extracts a light amount of colour from the skins without extracting astringent tannins and without letting the fortification process dominate the final product. The cold decantation that precedes the cold fermentation is fundamental to ensure the freshness of the fruit aromas and their elegance. 50cl

Croft is the oldest Port wine producer trading today, dating from 1588, the very year that the Spanish Armada was defeated by Sir Francis Drake. The history of the House includes aristocrats, espionage and a tonic for invalids, but from the very start Croft was renowned for its vintage Ports having produced the earliest on record in 1781.

Quinta da Roêda, the jewel of Douro Valley vineyards acquired by Croft in 1889, is also integral to the House’s vintage wines. The 109 hectare property has some 332,000 vines planted overlooking the Douro River, and produces characteristically plump, full and vigorously fruity wines with a hallmark ‘gum cistus’ aroma of the native aromatic bush.
