Daffys Scottish Gin

Daffys Scottish Gin has a nose that is fresh, woody, floral, toffee, fruity and full of life.

A little like an Oriental pine forest by the sea with a breathtaking view.

Smooth and vibrant spice with oaky mouthfeel, leading to lively citrus and Lebanese mint then to red fruit followed by juniper.

From the depth of fine juniper & Lebanese mint to a long, buttery, warm & elegant finish – enchanting to the end.

Daffy’s is a gin like no other, created from the finest French grain spirit, distilled on an ancient copper pot whisky still with Lebanese mint.

The finest botanicals to create a gin that is classic, complex, perfectly balanced and fresh with a world of intrigue.

Daffy’s Scottish Gin has been crafted to be enjoyed straight over ice like the finest of malt whiskies, to make the ultimate D&T, the very best of Negroni and other great cocktails.

Background:-

They have spent 4 years on an adventure and quest to create a gin like no other, a gin of the finest quality achievable, using the very best botanicals and some new botanicals to gin.

What they have discovered, they are amazingly excited about and very keen to share it with as many like-minded friends as possible.

They started by using the finest pure wheat grain spirit from northern France that they could find, then, distilling it in the same manner as malt whisky on an ancient single batch copper pot still.

The botanicals that they steep and distill are a combination of the traditional – juniper, coriander seeds, cassia bark and the new – Lebanese mint and rare variety lemons.

Lebanese mint as a botanical brings and extraordinary freshness to Daffy’s complimenting their other tasting notes of toffee, citrus, spice caramel and fresh mint.

Moniack Mead

Rating:
Moniack Mead is a traditional honey mead which is produced at Moniack Castle by Highland Wineries, and is said to be one of the best meads being made in modern times. Mead is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks known in history and, like all meads, Moniack Mead is produced through the process of fermenting honey. An interesting fact about mead is that it is traditionally drunk for the month after a wedding which is where the word “honeymoon” came from. Moniack Mead has a lovely, lingering and smooth flavour with elements of caramel and fermented honey. Our recommendation is that this mead is best served either chilled or if you prefer as a aperitif. 75cl bottle

Fifty Pounds Gin 43.5%

The nose is lemon, lime, juniper, and very classic in character. Just a tinge of sweetness with a touch of creamy lemon as well. Juniper on the tip of the tongue, followed by lemon, coriander and angelica. Just a bit of spice, with citrus blossoming in the middle. The finish hints at anise, angelica, juniper and citrus rind. Tart and direct, with a very dry palate cleansing finish.
