Delicious Damson Gin Liqueur

In many ways Damson Gin is rapidly becoming one of our most popular flavours.

We used to source all of our Damsons form a lovely lady in Herefordshire who grows them along her farm tracks.

As we have expanded we have had to find more and more damsons.

Luckily the Religious community that provide us with plums also now sell us Damsons.

This year will also see another producer start supplying us this time from the traditional fruit growing area around Evesham.

So we now have three different farms that supply us with best quality Damsons.

Intense and slightly tart, the flavour of Damson begins to taste almost like old fashioned cherry drop sweets.

Beautifully fruity and tart with a taste of cherries in amongst the Damson.

Another winter warmer that you can enjoy in the summer!

Making Gin

Finally, we want to underline that the London Dry Gin used to make our own Gin liqueurs is the highest quality style of gin possible.

In particular, it captures the lovely strong flavours of what used to be termed “Export Strength” Gins.

Distillers combine the base botanicals of Juniper and Coriander seeds with Lemon Peel and Lime Flower and then use Angelica and Orris Root which act as the fixatives bringing harmony to the different flavours.

The use of Lime flower therefore gives the Gin a very clean and refreshing taste.

In conclusion, see below the Tasting notes from the 2011 IWSC:

“Big, booming nose that gives everything a London Dry should do but more at the strength. Super active entry into the mouth yet gorgeously deep and mellow. All the flavour you could want in wonderful integration. Complexity gives super smoothness and velvet flow while retaining the lively character. Complex, long, refreshing finish. Aftertaste lasts for ever!”

Rakish Rhubarb Gin Liqueur

This beautiful Rhubarb Gin is part of our own range of Gin liqueurs. Compounded the old fashioned way - the way you probably make Sloe Gin at home - by steeping diced rhubarb in London Dry Gin. We added sugar at the end of the process as we wanted to keep the tartness and sweetness nicely balance. Excellent with different mixers, but also incredibly balanced if consumed neat. Available in 35cl bottle and 70cl bottle

Racy Raspberry Gin Liqueur

This naturally sweet Raspberry Gin is part of our own range of Gin liqueurs. As with all our fruit Gins, this is made in the same way as Sloe Gin. Ingredients are only Raspberries, "Export Strength" London Dry Gin, water and sugar. Probably the sweetest drink in the range, but this sweetness is really a product of the natural fruit rather than sugar. This is a fabulous colour and you will love trying this on the rocks. Available in 35cl bottle and 70cl bottle

Seductive Sloe Gin Liqueur

This Sloe Gin is part of our own range of Gin liqueurs. Made from Sloes, sugar and London Dry Gin our Sloe Gin is paler, stronger (27% ABV) and less sweet than the majority of others. You will find this a real warmer and it is perfect out in the field. You may like to try it instead of Port, but in the summer it is great mixed with Champagne. Cotswold Dry Gin

Nose: fresh notes of grapefruit with earthy coriander backed-up by sweet juniper. Soft notes of black pepper with a hint of perfumed Cotswolds lavender. Palate: clean, pine juniper spice with fresh grapefruit and coriander seed. A touch of dryness from the angelica root with eucalyptus notes from bay leaf. Subtle lime and lavender. The expression of the traditional London dry style comes from the maceration into our pure wheat spirit of juniper, coriander and angelica root, which have been left for 12 hours to allow their flavour characteristics to fully infuse. They then add their unique botanical mix of Cotswolds lavender and bay leaf, grapefruit, lime, black pepper and cardamom seed into their carter head still for distillation before finishing with naturally refined Cotswolds water. The result is a classic well-balanced juniper-led gin with crisp citrus and spice. This gin is delicious on its own and over ice. It’s robust enough to stand up to tonic and smooth enough to craft the ultimate gin martini.
