Description

Attractively aromatic, rich dry Sauvignon showing the fruit character of fully ripe grapes. Exotic fruits in abundance on the nose and just a hint of mint. On the palate its fresh and tangy and the finish is fruity and moreish. The obvious accompaniment to asparagus with hollandaise but should be tried with goats cheese and works well with tuna dishes.

At competitions Domaine Patrick Vauvy Touraine Sauvignon Blanc has been awarded a couple of prizes: the Guide Hachette des Vins awarded the 2005 1 Star and the Concours des Grands Vins de France Macon awarded the 2005 vintage Bronze.

Domaine Patrick Vauvy Touraine Sauvignon Blanc is one of the most popular wines from the region (with Wine-Searcher users). The popularity of this wine has increased considerably over the past year.

Domaine Patrick Vauvy has been in the hands of the Vauvy family for four generations. It is set above the banks of the Cher, on the deep sand of the south-facing slopes of Noyers.

Winemaker Patrick Vauvy is continually striving to improve the vineyards and cellar and is not afraid to experiment.

Domaine Patrick Vauvy is now producing benchmark single varietal Loire wines. Patrick took the reigns of the family Domaine in 1991 after studying viticulture and oneology.

The dynamic and creative Patrick Vauvy harvests over 30 hectares of vines, the majority planted with Sauvignon Blanc.

The Domaine has been the hands of the Vauvy family for four generations and since Patrick took over in 1991, he has brought a new vision and experimental style to the Domaine - he is often the last of his neighbours to harvest for example.

Located above the banks of the Cher River, the soil is predominately sand based giving their wines a fruit driven, immediately appealing style.

Today the Domaine has 18 hectares of vineyards planted with Sauvignon Blanc, Gamay, Cabernet Franc, and small amounts of Chardonnay and Cot.
