Doorly's XO Barbados Rum

Doorly's XO Barbados Rum, a light brown rum distilled from fermented molasses, aged in used whisky barrels then finished in Orolosso Sherry barrels. Doorly's XO.

Doorly's XO Barbados Rum is a fairly light bodied rum with a smooth smoky finish reminiscent of a good whisky.

Doorly's XO Barbados Rum, is light, aroma and tropical fruit in the initial taste are well balanced with hints of spice, lightly roasted nuts and hints of spice lead to a warm smoky finish.

XO deviates from the profile of classic aged Bajan rum in terms of depth of character, but Doorly's XO sips on its own merit and I enjoy this rum on the rocks. Bottled at 40% alcohol by volume.

RL Seale is one of Barbados’ oldest trading houses, a family-owned business whose involvement in rum making extends from father-to-son since 1820.

Current head distiller, Richard Seale, is one of the region’s most innovative distillers and blenders and has a passion for producing perfect rum with great flavour.

This is one of those rums that could turn whiskey and bourbon drinkers over to rum.

Many whiskey drinkers don't explore rum because they think it is either to sweet or all tastes like Morgan and Bacardi gold. This one shows that even bargain rums can have depth and complexity.

"Fine and not too expensive sherryish rum. I have read from somewhere that they don't put any additives to this rum, so it's quite dry. Many rums are very much sweetened.

This is tasteful and nicely sherryish and nutty rum thing. There is sharpness, but there is also balance and quality. For the little money recommended, but don't pay too much. My advice."
