Dorothy Parker American Gin
Dorothy Parker American Gin is a blend of traditional and contemporary botanicals including juniper and elderberries, citrus, cinnamon, and hibiscus – is as delicious in a Gin & Tonic as it is in a Gin Daisy.
There is classic Juniper aromas upfront together with distinct hibiscus petals then elderberry and cinnamon with cranberry and coriander in the background. The palate has more piney juniper combining with the hibiscus and spiced cranberries. The finish has a pine freshness and zesty citrus peel.
In an age of restless brilliance, Dorothy Parker was a singular sensation. A new Yorker at heart, her national celebrity sprang from her sharp, biting humor and widely quoted quips. Regularly seated at the famed Algonquin Round Table, she occupied the city’s cultural and intellectual center stage. An iconic enthusiast of gin and an unconventional woman, no one could have been a more interesting drinking companion.
“I like to have a martini, two at the very most. After three I’m under the table, after four I’m under my host.” – Dorothy Parker
The earliest distilleries in Brooklyn date back to the 1700’s. During Prohibition there were over 50,000 illicit stills in New York City. Since Prohibition however, the ethereal perfumes of distillation have been largely absent…until now.
The New York Distilling Company builds on this dream by establishing one of the nation’s premiere craft distilleries.
The small team who started the New York Distilling Company include Tom Potter who co-founded the Brooklyn Brewery in 1987, serving as CEO and Chairman of the Board. Also Allen Katz is one of America’s leading experts on distilled spirits and cocktails and was also former Slow Food USA chairman. Finally Bill Potter worked in the fine dining service industry for ten years before taking over the helm as Head Distiller for NYDC.
