Faultline Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Faultline Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has a lifted nose showing aromas of passion fruit, blackcurrant, grapefruit and nettles with refreshing underlying mineral.

Faultline Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is a light bodied refreshing wine with typical Marlborough flavours of gooseberry, blackcurrant and grapefruit, a pleasing mineral note leads to a long lingering finish.

Faultline Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc :  Made by winemaker Alana McGettigan who works with Matt Thomson in the Kiwi-Oeno winemaking consultancy.

Alana makes two vintages every year, working in Northern Italy or Southern France in September each year before returning to her native New Zealand. The Faultline Sauvignon Blanc is one of Alana’s favourite drinking wines

Skipstone is tucked between two stunning hillsides in the mountains above Alexander Valley.

Uncompromising in our standards of sustainability and our treatment of the land, we are committed to nurturing the precious resource that is our 200 acre estate.

Blessed by nature, we listen intently to the terroir of our vineyards, and in turn, our wines speak eloquently of their origin. http://www.skipstoneranch.com/sustainable-farming/

We will never be driven by case production goals, but instead will only use the finest lots each vintage has to offer to ensure consistency in quality while paying tribute to our world-class winegrowing site.

We have listened to the vineyard and in turn aspire to the perfect expression of Skipstone in each bottle.

In 2003, Fahri recruited highly-regarded organic farming consultant Amigo Bob Cantisano to help develop standards specifically tailored to the diverse geography and terroir of Skipstone.

A specialist in organic farming since 1972, Amigo Bob has worked closely with many of Napa and Sonoma’s most prestigious vineyards and wineries.

Today, Skipstone is a thriving organic and sustainable estate, uncompromising in its farming standards and its stewardship of the land. In return, its vineyards and orchards yield nature’s finest quality fruit.

Aromo Viognier 2020

Full bodied white with a rich background of savoury notes, a very aromatic peach and mayblossom fruit character, but without any sweetness. No oak and fresh fruit makes this wine a real winner. The Aromo wines have a great charm and appeal and this is no exception.

Alpha Zeta Garganega 2018

Relatively low fermentation temperatures help preserve the fresh fruit character of the grapes. 20% was fermented in large format oak. The wine was held in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks until bottling. Clear, pale straw in colour with fresh, delicate perfumes of stoned fruit, honeysuckle and almond blossom. On the palate, it is fresh but has surprising depth and a lovely peachy fruit character. A lively, lemonyzest finish offsets the ripe fruit on the palate.

Dobogo Tokaji Furmint 2017

Medium gold in colour with a complex array of aromas including fresh notes of lime, pear, ripe apple, quince, herbs, chamomile and a hint of spiciness. The taught acid structure balances the ripe fruit concentration and salty, mineral character, which lingers on the elegant finish. This is a young and dynamic wine, which can be enjoyed immediately or aged for several years.

Domaine des Ballandors Quincy 2020

This is the village adjacent to Sancerre and Pouilly Fume where wines of similar style are made but because of Quincy’s ‘lesser’ name at much reduced cost. This wine is a testament to that; the flavours and aromas achieved in this wine are equivalent to any top flight Sancerre, with ‘grippy’ edgy grapefruit notes and steely crisp fruit. When Anton Beukes, winemaker at the Môreson Winery in South Africa, tasted this wine at supper, he said; ‘This is the wine I would love to make’ - Anton makes some very serious wines, so what an accolade! Winner of Best French White Wine at ‘France under one roof’ London 2005.

Domaine Langlois Chateau Saumur Blanc 2019

Chenin Blanc dominated dry and minerally with a tang of honeyed melon on the palate that leads to the crisp floral finish. The harvest is made entirely by hand yielding 60 hl/ha and 150kg of grapes produced 100 litres of juice in this vintage. Fermentation was controlled at between 18-20 degrees to preserve the precious aromas.
