Gin Mare Mediterranean Gin
Gin Mare Mediterranean Gin is quite unlike any other gin, on the nose it is soft and clean with the rosemary especially immediately evident. Although the juniper is still the main aroma it is complimented rather than overpowered by the more herbal Mediterranean botanicals.
The flavours have a lightness supplied by the citrus and basil with a savoury olive undertone. The savoury, herbal elements are there too, with the rosemary again evident upfront alongside the classic juniper backbone that you would expect in a gin. It has a great depth of flavour with a olive and thyme finish that lingers long in the mouth.
While Gin Mare Mediterranean Gin is not your usual or classic London-Dry-style Gin, it is still definitely a gin. The Mediterranean style flavours and herbal notes add a unique characteristic to drinks. Of all of the gins released in the last few years, this is one of the ones that has created the biggest buzz and certainly stands out with it’s unique flavours.
Gin Mare Mediterranean Gin is produced in Spain south of Barcelona using botanicals all sourced from around the Mediterranean. As well as using the ‘traditional’ botanicals juniper, bitter orange peel, seville orange peel, lemon peel, cardamon, and coriander seed they use four that are a bit more unusual; Arbequina olives, basil, rosemary and thyme. All the botanicals except the citrus are macerated individually for a day or two in neutral grain alcohol, before being distilled in a traditional copper pot still, also individually. The citrus peel botanicals are macerated as fresh peels in neutral grain alcohol for an incredible 300 days before distillation. All the individual distillates are then carefully blended together to give Gin Mare Mediterranean Gin it’s unique taste.

All goods should be examined upon receipt, and any claim for loss or breakage notified by email or telephone to Hay Wines immediately. In the case of goods delivered by couriers, unless any claim is made within 24 hours, no compensation, refund or other credit will be available. In the case of damaged goods, Hay Wines reserves the right to collect these.

If you wish to return your order due to an error on our behalf, we are happy to collect or get our courier to collect from the delivery address stated on the invoice, providing the parcel is securely packed in the same way as it was sent out. If you wish to return the parcel yourself please feel free to do so. Once the parcel has returned to us we will refund you the full amount. Please note that refunds may take up to 7 working days to appear in your account.
