Guerrieri Rizzardi Calcarole Amarone Classico

Guerrieri Rizzardi Calcarole Amarone Classico has intense fruity notes at rest oak, red fruit macerated and then intense aromas of jam and berries.

Guerrieri Rizzardi Calcarole Amarone Classico taste is long, with fine tannins and a full, deep structure and long finish.

Guerrieri Rizzardi is an historic family owned estate established in 1914 but with vineyard holdings dating back to the XV century inherited from the Counts Guerrieri and XVII century from the Counts Rizzardi.

To this day the estates are family owned and run Contessa Maria Cristina Loredan is the winery president and her two sons Giuseppe Rizzardi and Agostino Rizzardi have been operatively running the company since the late ‘90s: Giuseppe is in charge of the estates management and is the winemaker, while Agostino is the general manager.

They have presided over a quality based evolution from an already strong base and this focus was rewarded by a first 3 Bicchieri for the 2001 Villa Rizzardi Amarone DOC Classico. http://www.guerrieri-rizzardi.com/

Further 3 Bicchieri awards followed every year culminating in the grand prize in 2014 of Gambero Rosso “Red Wine of The Year” for the flagship Guerrieri Rizzardi Calcarole Amarone Classico 2009.

Single vineyard Guerrieri Rizzardi Calcarole Amarone Classico is only produced in the best vintages and in limited quantities.

Calcarole is a “cru” above the Villa di Rovereti in the heart of Negrar in the Valpolicella Classico Area.

This vineyard is ideally suited due to its particularly warm climate and stony soil and it south west aspect. Sourced from mature vines, the grapes are harvested by hand and picked when they are at the ideal ripeness to undergo drying.

The hand selected grapes are naturally dried in boxes and then fermented and pressed. Calcarole Amarone can be cellared for many years.

Returns and Exchanges

All goods should be examined upon receipt, and any claim for loss or breakage notified by email or telephone to Hay Wines immediately. In the case of goods delivered by couriers, unless any claim is made within 24 hours, no compensation, refund or other credit will be available. In the case of damaged goods, Hay Wines reserves the right to collect these.

If you wish to return your order due to an error on our behalf, we are happy to collect or get our courier to collect from the delivery address stated on the invoice, providing the parcel is securely packed in the same way as it was sent out. If you wish to return the parcel yourself please feel free to do so. Once the parcel has returned to us we will refund you the full amount.
