Hussingtree Juneberry Gin

“Hussingtree Juneberry Dry Gin perfectly embodies our ambition to create distinctive, flavoursome distilled gin. A fruit gin that’s full of flavour, it balances juniper with juneberries, a suble citrus kick from orange peel alongside seven further botanicals. The juneberries add a wonderful rounded fruity and gentle sweetness to the flavour, without being overpowering.

We follow the London Dry method, which means we only dilute the distilled gin down to our desired 40% strength. We never add any further flavours or sweetners to our gin after it’s distilled.” – Hussingtree Gin

Similar in appearance to the blueberry, the juneberry is crisper in texture and carries a sweeter, nutty taste. In the Hussingtree Juneberry Gin the juneberry provides a subtle, sweet balance to the overall flavour. It’s considered to be a super fruit due to its superior nutritional properties – high in fibre, and an excellent source of vitamin C and E, alongside iron, protein, calcium, magnesium and potassium.

We’re unaware of any other distilled gin that has the juneberry as a main botanical.

Enjoy the Hussingtree Juneberry Dry Gin at its best with your favourite neutral tonic poured over a heap of ice. We recommend the ratio of neutral tonic to gin being between 2:1 and 3:1. If you like to add a garnish, why not try a thin slice of orange zest, or, a couple of raspberries.

Ricard Pastis

The famous aniseed flavoured aperitif from Marseille. In accordance with Paul Ricard’s original recipe, Ricard pastis should be served cold. It should be prepared by adding 10cl of chilled water to 2cl of Ricard and then adding the ice cubes last. This ritual will release the full aroma of the anise. The unique recipe makes for an ideal combination with cordials (like pomegranate, mint, orgeat or grapefruit) or fruit juices (mango, strawberry, cranberry). 70cl bottle

Moniack Mead Quick View

Moniack Mead

Rating:
Moniack Mead is a traditional honey mead which is produced at Moniack Castle by Highland Wineries, and is said to be one of the best meads being made in modern times. Mead is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks known in history and, like all meads, Moniack Mead is produced through the process of fermenting honey. An interesting fact about mead is that it is traditionally drunk for the month after a wedding which is where the word “honeymoon” came from. Moniack Mead has a lovely, lingering and smooth flavour with elements of caramel and fermented honey. Our recommendation is that this mead is best served either chilled or if you prefer as a aperitif. 75cl bottle

Fifty Pounds Gin 43.5%

The nose is lemon, lime, juniper, and very classic in character. Just a tinge of sweetness with a touch of creamy lemon as well. Juniper on the tip of the tongue, followed by lemon, coriander and angelica. Just a bit of spice, with citrus blossoming in the middle. The finish hints at anise, angelica, juniper and citrus rind. Tart and direct, with a very dry palate cleansing finish.
