Kayra Buzbag Emir Narince

In Kayra Buzbag Emir Narince the two indigeneous Anatolian grapes Emir and Narince are blended to create Buzbağ White. The delicate aromas of Narince with its lemon, freshly squeezed grapefruit, hints of apricot and lychee enhance the eccentric flavours and the rich texture of the Emir variety. A refreshing and well balanced palate of crisp apples and pears, shows an underlying mineral freshness.

“Born in 1944 the blend of two of Turkey’s native grapes came from te direction of Ataturk himself. Where as he requested two of French enologists to review the countryside and identify the possibilities of winemaking in this newly formed country.Bogazkere is the power behind the blend and Okuzgozu is the taming portion of the relationship.Barrel aged for 18 to 24 months it goes into the bottle very powerful with meaty tannins, but given time and patience it softens and smoothes out to more of a raw silky texture and the fruits come out from where they were once hidden. This blend is crafted to age gracefully for years to come and present various personalities as it matures.Much like ourselves…” -Daniel O’Donnell, Consultant Winemaker

Jean-Claude Bachelet Puligny Montrachet Les Aubues 2017

This is really classy in 2010, the first year with the name of the lieu-dit on the label. A beautiful floral nose, dancing fruit, charming and balanced, it possesses an excellent racy acidity and is altogether a great success. From 50-year-old vines in Les Aubues, an enclave within better known Enceigneres, this is very attractive with quite a full nose and an excellent finish.

Aromo Viognier 2018

Full bodied white with a rich background of savoury notes, a very aromatic peach and mayblossom fruit character, but without any sweetness. No oak and fresh fruit makes this wine a real winner. The Aromo wines have a great charm and appeal and this is no exception.

Domaine Pelle Menetou Salon Morogues 2018

This wine has a subtle, pure nose with aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits. The taste is racy and crystalline, clear with a citrus fruit taste initially followed by a saline and mineral finish. Nothing overly exuberant: just clarity and precision.

Domaine Patrick Vauvy Touraine Sauvignon Blanc Quick View

Domaine Patrick Vauvy Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Attractively aromatic, rich dry Sauvignon showing the fruit character of fully ripe grapes. Exotic fruits in abundance on the nose and just a hint of mint. On the palate its fresh and tangy and the finish is fruity and moreish. The obvious accompaniment to asparagus with hollandaise but should be tried with goats cheese and works well with tuna dishes.

Domaine des Brosses Sancerre Quick View

Domaine des Brosses Sancerre 2018

The Girard family have 6 different parcels of Sancerre vineyards. Their hillside vineyards are located on classic clay and chalk soils, giving the grippy, mineral style expected of true Sancerre. Domaine des Brosses has used a machine harvester to collect the grapes since 1989. This is so that the Sauvignon Blanc is brought to the winery in the coolness of night-time, thus retaining the classic citrus and gooseberry aromas and flavours of Sancerre. Pale yellow in colour. The nose is fresh and full of hay, citrus and mineral notes. The palate is medium in body with crisp lemon acidity and an appealing creamy complexity alongside the ripe peach, elderflower and mineral flavours which last well on the long finish.
