Mezzacorona Terodelgo Rotaliano Riserva

Mezzacorona Terodelgo Rotaliano Riserva, displays a complex, characteristic fragrance with a pleasant, ripe fruit aroma of prunes and blackcurrant.

Mezzacorona Terodelgo Rotaliano Riserva is full-bodied and well-balanced with a soft mouthfeel.

Teroldego takes its name from its traditional method of cultivation, trained on a system of “tirelle” or wire harnesses, an explanation that’s more likely, if less pretty, than its legendary association with German dialect for gold of the Tirol.
The grapes are pressed with separation of stalks. It makes a partial removal of the seeds which follows the maceration with frequent pumping and temperature-controlled fermentation at around 25 ° C for 12-13 days.

Minimum 24 months of maturation, of which 12 are in precious oak (Allier and Troncais); aging in bottle. http://www.mezzacorona.it/it

TASTING NOTES
Wine of intense ruby ??red color, has a complex bouquet, quaint and reminiscent of the scent of ripe fruit with a pleasing hints of blueberry, plum and red currant, surrounded by spicy notes derived from aging in wood.
The palate is full-bodied, full-bodied and pleasantly tannic.

PAIRINGS
A wine of great character, it goes well with boiled, roasted red meats, grilled and seasoned cheese. It is excellent with tasty rice dishes of the local tradition.
It has recently been discovered to be a full sibling of the Dureza variety from France, which is one of the parents of Syrah.

Mezzacorona lies at the foot of the majestic Italian Dolomites.

Its vineyards with pergola trellising, characteristic of the region, run from Lake Garda to the foothills of the towering Dolomites.

A fresh and wild breeze blows from the over 400 lakes and numerous glaciers of the surrounding mountains, peaking at over 9,000 feet.

Among the red wines of Trentino is the most famous, so famous that “prince of Trentino wines”.

The teroldego is a native variety of Trentino and finds its ideal environment in the Piana Rotaliana. Reserve Teroldego is produced only in great vintages from grapes carefully hand-selected in the best areas.

Thanks to a spectrum of microclimates, ranging from Mediterranean and Alpine, and profiting from over a century of winemaking experience, Mezzacorona planted varietals in the zones best tailored to the needs of each varietal, allowing them to flaunt the aromas and flavour of their terroir.
