Mont Rocher Vielles Vignes Viognier IGP Pays D’Oc
Mont Rocher Vielles Vignes Viognier IGP Pays Le Herault is a haunting honeysuckle and apricot aroma and rich, almost unctuous palate that is somehow still dry, tangy and refreshing.
Mont Rocher is a collection of wine produces from indigenous varieties, produced in a style that lets them clearly express their varietal typicity and sense of place.
Part of the Alliance Wine France range, Mont Rocher is a collection of wine produces from indigenous varieties, produced in a style that lets them clearly express their varietal typicity and sense of place.
Southern France, with its multifarious regions, indigenous grapes, cultures and traditions is home to some of the most exciting, characterful wines in the world at present.
Pure, authoritative packaging that lets these wines do the talking meets delicious, well-balanced wines that offer a taste of the real France.
Viognier is a white wine grape variety. It is the only permitted grape for the French wine Condrieu in the Rhône Valley. Outside of the Rhône, Viognier can be found in regions of North and South America as well as Australia and New Zealand. In some wine regions, the variety is co-fermented with the red wine grape Syrah where it can contribute to the color and bouquet of the wine.
Like Chardonnay, Viognier has the potential to produce full-bodied wines with a lush, soft character. In contrast to Chardonnay, the Viognier varietal has more natural aromatics that include notes of peach, pears, violets and minerality.
We underline that the Mont Rocher Carignan Vielles Vignes won SILVER at the 2012 Sommelier Wine Awards. Fresh black cherry and blackcurrant/cassis notes on the nose lead to a ‘light, lively palate with a spicy finish,’ said Sara Bachiorri, from The Glasshouse, adding that ‘It shows great character and depth of fruit for such a price.
