Morande Adventure Creole
Morande Adventure Creole has a lively red currant spice, with vibrant notes of roses and lavender. Soft and juicy palate, lovely gripping mid palate, liquorice, spice and mouthwatering acidity. Delicious, fresh and elegant blend with great sense of place!
Creole draws on the rural reality of its origins through the grapes that go into it. The Cinsault and País grapes from the dry Secano Interior of the Itata and Maule Valleys are strongly tied to the culture and tradition of the zone. The dry-farmed head-trained vineyards grow naturally, and the grapes often touch the ground.
This is a criollo—Chilean creole—wine, because it is based on varieties that have been present in the vineyards and culture of southern Chile for many years and tended by many rural hands.
Morandé was founded in 1996 by Pablo Morandé, and found immediate recognition both domestically and abroad, being recognised as ‘Winery of the Year’ by Wine Enthusiast magazine in 1999 and ‘Vineyard of the Year’ by Wine and Spirits Magazine in 2002. Morandé is now part of Grupo Belén, one of Chile’s largest and most successful wine groups.Pablo Morandé remains involved in the winemaking.
Morandé are true pioneers – they were the first family to develop the Casablanca D.O., recognising the fantastic potential of this cool-climate wine region. They also led the way in reviving old viticultural regions such as Maulé and Itata, working with old dry-farmed bush vines and unconventional varieties such as Carignan, País, Cinsault, Grenache and Malbec. All of the wines are produced with grapes from Morandé’s own vineyards. Their winemaking philosophy is guided by seeking the right terroir for each grape variety, and with significant vineyard holdings they are well placed to achieve this.
Morandé Adventure began in 2012 as part of a philosophy of innovation and taking a step beyond with their dreams. this is an initiative of Grupo Belén, in which the winemakers from the five related winery’s — Morandé, Vistamar, Mancura, Zorzal and Fray Leon—produce their own wines.
