Description

Podere Veneri Vecchio Bianco Tempo

The grapes of Podere Veneri Vecchio Bianco Tempo come from 60 years old vines.

Mineral nose, reminding of Mediterranean flora.

The palate is characterised by a salty taste that makes this wine perfect to be paired with shellfish.

The Philosophy

Natural wines are not chemically manipulated to produce a standardised output, which must be preserved at all costs.

Therefore, they reflect their vineyard origins better. Therefore, they can also vary significantly from one vintage to the next. They feel the influence the climate and of the general environmental context.

Certainly, the objective is precisely to obtain the best possible output under varying circumstances, always trying to deliver a wine that reflects the distinctive character of the territory.

Moreover, having very little or no added SO2, natural wines usually evolve in the bottle, especially in the first months or years.

This is a general characteristic of completely natural wines.

The Producer

Raffaello Annicchiarico’s main principle as a wine producer is respect for the land and the vineyards.

This guides him in running Podere Veneri Vecchio on a small farm in Castelvenere, near Benevento in Italy.

In the vineyard, Raffaello does not treat with synthetic chemicals (no herbicides, no fungicides, no pesticides).

He only uses plant extracts coming from the vineyard, such as nettle, horsetail, garlic and others.

Cover cropping is another usual practice to enrich the soil and to encourage its natural fertility.
