Description

The eclectic blend is aged for 18 months in new Seguin Moreau oak. The varieties work together well on the nose, which reveals elegant notes of raspberry, wild strawberry, cocoa and rosemary. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. The fruit profile is red rather than black, with a smooth, harmonious texture and attractive notes of cedar and dried orange peel on the finish. This is another superb wine from Pulenta Estate.

Alcohol Percentage: 14.5%

Area: The 135 hectare estate is located in Alto Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo. Like all the best Argentine vineyards they are high (average 980m), thus getting a big diurnal temperature range, helping the wines retain freshness and balance

Grape Variety: 45% Malbec, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 5% Tannat. Aged for 18 months in new French oak

Producer: The Pulenta family has been involved in the Argentine viticulture for three generations. Eduardo and Hugo Pulenta are currently holding the reins

Rating: Big, luscious, flamboyant. Maybe not for a traditionalist, but it's a pretty seductive total package for anyone who likes rich New World reds.
