Renacer Enamore tastes of black plum, blackberry, lemon zest and liquorice are the key aromas on this Amarone-patterned blend from Argentina.
On the palate Renacer Enamore is concentrated, rich and lush, with grabby, soft tannins and sweet flavours of blackberry, brown sugar and caramel.
After harvest, the grapes are placed on drying racks outside the winery, where the naturally windy conditions dried the berries and concentrated the flavours and sugars.
The grapes lost approximately 30% of their weight in this process, which is the same method used as for Amarone. A cold, pre-fermentation maceration took place for 12 days at a temperature of 10ºC.
Fermentation took place with native yeasts over a period of 14-16 days in stainless steel tanks, at temperatures between 25-27ºC. Malolactic fermentation was then carried out in French oak barriques.
The wine was aged for 12 months in new French oak.Renacer Enamore is “toasty” and mild on the finish, with jammy thickness.
Founded by Patricio Reich in 2004, with the collaboration of world-renowned winemaker Alberto Antonini, Bodega Renacer prides itself in bringing consumers the very best wines from South America’s unique terroirs.
The winery structure itself is quite impressive, featuring a medieval tower built of rocks with state-of-the-art winemaking equipment.
The fruit for this wine comes from vineyards in Luján de Cujo, Medrano and Rivadavia which have an altitude between 600-900m above sea level and a range of soil types from poor through to fertile.
The vines have an average age of over 50 years and yields are less than eight tonnes per hectare. Harvest is always done by hand with a double selection of both clusters and berries.
