Salcombe Gin

The Salcombe Gin is handcrafted on a beautiful 450l copper pot still at the distillery in Salcombe. Each batch is distilled with an unrivalled passion, care and attention to detail then blended together with Dartmoor water to produce an exceptional gin. They don’t compromise on quality, period.

Unlike many larger producers, they use a more traditional approach known as the one shot method and distil the gin according to the ‘London Dry’ standard, although they like to think of it as ‘Devon Dry’; London Dry with Devon sunshine!

Salcombe Gin 'START POINT' has the perfect balance of aromas and flavours from the heady, earthy and resinous pine notes of the finest Macedonian juniper, selected for their high Limonene content, to the warming spiced citrus notes from English coriander seeds and fresh citrus peels, hand peeled by us just prior to distillation.

They use a number of citrus peels including ruby grapefruit, lemon and lime which were some of the fruits carried by the famous Salcombe Fruiters, a key part of the spirit's heritage.

The citrus fruits are complemented by a further ten botanicals which have been hand sourced from around the world. Each has a story to tell, none are mass produced, all are traceable to their source and all are picked at their best. We are uncompromisingly fussy about their quality.

Many of the botanicals, including their fresh citrus and spices have been traced back to the global maritime trading routes and cargoes once carried by the Salcombe Fruiters. whilst these botanicals are still shipped to England, they are sadly no longer onboard the beautiful fast sailing fruit schooners of a bygone era.
