Selladore en Provence Rose

Formerly Chase Provence Rose.

Selladore en Provence Rose is a crisp, fresh and fruity rosé, boasting delicious notes of white peach and grapefruit, with subtle aromas of Provence, drawn together with a lovely fresh finish. Matched with grilled vegetables or a salad Niçoise, the wine epitomises the South of France, and the countryside enamoured by Peter Mayle in ‘A Year in Provence’, the surrounding area being the very setting for the book.

A perfectly balanced wine Selladore en Provence Rose is delicate after a 24 hour cold maceration, the wine expresses affluent aromas of white peach, tropical fruits, pineapple, grapefruit, combined with subtle hints of spices & minerals, well directed length on the palate.

William Chase was a local farmer who grew potatoes when a supermarket rejected a batch he sold them to Kettle Chips who told him they were the best they had ever used so he decided to make his own crisps and Tyrells was born.

He then discovered potatoes could also make amazing vodka and apples the base for great gin. He also now also owns an estate in Provence making great biodynamic wines.

Method:-

Chateau Constantin Chase in Provence is located just minutes from the quaint picturesque village of Lourmarin and is best described in Peter Mayle’s ‘A Year In Provence’.

As a farmer I get to grow the vines, watching over the process from seed to bottle, so that the taste of the wine speaks for itself. Now we are starting to grow biodynamically to make our Provence Rosé with the ultimate aim to grow and make our own fine Southern Rhone Grenach-Syrah-Mourvedre aged in amphora and oak.

We aim to keep innovating with both the spirits and the wines, experimenting with ways to make vodka, by fermenting beetroot for example; anything new and different!

At Chateau Constantin Chase, the wine making starts in the vineyards, which extend over almost 20 hectares, and are covered in beautiful ‘vielle vignes’, or ‘old vines’. Planted during the 1960’s, the domaine has been producing exquisite wines from unique terroirs and an exceptional climate.

From gravel based river plains to the icy ‘mistral’ wind; each part of the Provence process culminates in the production of fantastic wine. http://williamschase.co.uk/pages/our-story
