Sly Gin London Dry Gin

Sly Gin London Dry Gin is a new London Dry Gin which is produced in very small batches using low temperature distillation methods to capture the bright, fresh flavours of the botanicals, some of which are grown in their own herb garden. The final product is hand crafted, distilled and bottled in Dilwyn right here in Herefordshire.

After a long career as a freelance Software Engineer Duncan Fox hung up his keyboard and combined his engineering skills and love of chemistry with his wife’s knowledge and passion for herbs and all things botanical. The result is Haven Distillery.

The Haven distillery is a cottage distillery in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside crafting a gin made with herbs from their own garden and other traditional botanicals.

Home grown herbs including lemon thyme, bay, apple mint, rosemary, lavender, lemon verbena and other botanicals are distilled drop by drop at 20C in an almost complete vacuum. The carefully captures flavours are combined with the softness of vapour infused Italian juniper and finally proofed to a premium strength of 43% ABV with naturally pure Holywell Malvern spring water.

Moniack Mead

Rating:
Moniack Mead is a traditional honey mead which is produced at Moniack Castle by Highland Wineries, and is said to be one of the best meads being made in modern times. Mead is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks known in history and, like all meads, Moniack Mead is produced through the process of fermenting honey. An interesting fact about mead is that it is traditionally drunk for the month after a wedding which is where the word “honeymoon” came from. Moniack Mead has a lovely, lingering and smooth flavour with elements of caramel and fermented honey. Our recommendation is that this mead is best served either chilled or if you prefer as a aperitif. 75cl bottle
