More Information

Vincenzo Bianco Fattoria di Vaira

Vincenzo Bianco is a beautiful orange wine from the team at Fattoria di Vaira.

This is a truly excellent example of entry-level skin contact wine from Italy’s Adriatic eastern coast.

A short fermentation on the skins ensures that this blend of Falanghina and Fiano develops a golden colour and is packed with stone fruit aromas.

The wine is unfiltered so expect it to be a little hazy in the glass.

The palate displays lots of crunchy fruit notes as well as distinct tannins and an underlying mineral character.

Hazy, straw-coloured orange wine that is just tasty.

It's on the medium-bodied side of things with peach and quince aromas on the nose.

Vincenzo Bianco has got good complexity that balances minerals and a deep tartness.

The Philosophy

Natural wines are not chemically manipulated to produce a standardised output, which must be preserved at all costs.

Therefore, they reflect their vineyard origins better. Therefore, they can also vary significantly from one vintage to the next. They feel the influence the climate and of the general environmental context.

Certainly, the objective is precisely to obtain the best possible output under varying circumstances, always trying to deliver a wine that reflects the distinctive character of the territory.

Vincenzo Bianco is a wine that fully follows this philosophy.

Moreover, having very little or no added SO2, natural wines usually evolve in the bottle, especially in the first months or years.

This is a general characteristic of completely natural wines.

Fattoria di Vaira - The Producer

As one of the largest biodynamic farms in Italy, Fattoria Di Vaira have diversified to produce not only wine, but fine cheese, olive oil, honey and fresh cereals.

They've really got it down, but what really stands out is the wine due to restored soils and a lot of hard work to improve its purity.
