Wythall Estate Siegerrebe
Wythall Estate Siegerrebe has a clear, pale colour with a fresh, lively smell of white currants and nettles.
Similarly the wine follows through with flavours of melons and white currants on the palate. Further it has a ripe acidity whilst remaining dry, but not at all sharp. With a medium body and long juicy finish.
Primarily Siegerrebe (Victory vine in German) is a white wine grape grown in Germany.
However the vine is well suited to colder climates because bud-burst is late and the fruit ripening is very early. This makes the vine perfect for growing in the English climate.
English wines are enjoying increasing popularity with discerning wine drinkers worldwide.
Now over 500 English wineries are collectively producing around 5 million bottles each year.
Wythall Estate is located close to historic former market town of Ross‑on‑Wye in rural Herefordshire – one of the finest agricultural growing areas in England.
Because their vineyards benefits from a unique micro‑climate created by the surrounding undulating terrain, this protects the vines from cold weather. Additionally this harnesses the warmth of the sun during the growing season.
