Castano Hecula Monastrell Yecla
Castano Hecula Monastrell Yecla is deep purple in the glass. Rich, elegant aromas of blueberries, ripe dark raspberries and liquorice with a subtle touch of white flowers and a mineral character.
On the palate Castano Hecula Monastrell Yecla is full-bodied, with an inviting richness and soft fruitiness with well integrated woody notes.
Castano Hecula Monastrell Yecla is through working with the indigenous variety, the Monastrell, constantly experimenting with others and similarly with the distinct typologies of the soil where our vines are situated, throughout Yecla, that has fostered an extensive range of possibilities bringing increased complexity of aromas and tastes to each and every one of our wines.
Taking care of the vines in each one of its processes together with an exhaustive selection of grapes at harvest time and a meticulous control of the wine's production without excessive extraction, at controlled temperatures and vinification methods adapted to each grape variety and type, affords us an expansive range of wines in our catalogue: young whites, rosés and reds, different levels of oak ageing in accordance with every type of wine, monovarietal wines and harmonious assemblages....all unique pleasures waiting to be discovered
Bodegas Castaño is today one of the most respected wine producers in South-Eastern Spain in recognition for their tradition and achievements in the use of the indigenous grape varieties.

There is no mystery. Our wines are born from over 500ha of vineyards planted along four big estates located in different areas of DO Yecla, where each variety finds its perfect habitat allowing for perfect cultivation
The Castaño family owns over 410 hectares of vineyards in the Yecla DO in south-eastern Spain 80% of these vineyards are planted with the native Monastrell variety.
Castaño symbolises the best of what southern Spain has to offer: rich, warm climate wines made from grapes grown at altitude and transformed into robustly modern wines. For several generations, Bodegas Castaño has been a pioneer in the region.
