Ours is a story of men. In the beginning was the Spineda family, which was the first to enhance the area, then came the Gasparini family which was followed by the Loredan family, direct descendants of the Doges of Venice. Piero Loredan was a charismatic man who, after having traveled to Bordeaux, decided to bring new varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec to Montello to produce a new wine, to be made known to the world. A dream realized, so much so that, in the 1960s, he even won over French President Charles De Gaulle. In 1972 the baton passed to Giancarlo Palla, who made an equally important contribution to the territory. First of all by developing the culture of sparkling wines. He was the first to intuit that Montello is an extraordinary place not only for full-bodied and long-lived red wines, which he continues to exalt, but also for vibrant sparkling wines.

Montello has always been an area vocated to the production of wines so much so that, back in 1590, the historian Bonifacio sang its praises in his “Historia Trevigiana” claiming that “The county of Trevigi has woods useful for many woods and for hunting… The soils produce (…) very good wines and the best is that of the Montello Riviera”. Wines that here take on depth and richness thanks to clay soils rich in iron and characterized by the typical red color, to which are added mineral components essential for the vine.
