27.05.2022: “Chardonnay & Pinot Noir” Wine Tasting
While Chardonnay is the most planted white grape variety in the world, Pinot Noir is the red wine that has by far more devotees. Versatility and finesse is probably the best way to describe these two varieties. Pinot Noir is a very delicate grape, temperamental and difficult to cultivate; the opposite to Chardonnay, which is a sturdy variety that adapts very easily to the place where it grows. Two varieties that prefer cool climates, where they usually grow close to each other. Join us for an extensive tasting of 10 Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from some of the best wine regions of the world!

Our in-store tutored wine tasting events are held on a monthly basis; a great way to relax, have fun and learn about wines that you may learn to love.
During our tasting events, we do not aim to judge wines, styles and producers, we just want to have a relaxed and informed conversation about what we have in our glasses (read this article from The Guardian).
The presenters have often travelled the world and besides the information, their interesting stories and anecdotes that give “flesh” to behind the wines and producers.
Wine is much more that just a drink, it is a product of different cultures, family’s and traditions. A real wine tasting must always be focused on those concepts.
Therefore, in order to fully understand its values, it is necessary to learn more about its history and territory. At Hay Wines we do not want to arrange wine tastings, we aim to share our passion and to offer a more complete experience!
Tutored whisky tastings are held every 3 months and are a great way to explore the extensive range of whiskies available, and discover styles you enjoy the most.
We arrange wine events, beer or whisky tastings at venues, or our shop, for groups of up to 30 people, a Food & Wine matching service can also be provided.
We also attend Food & Wine festivals and exhibitions around the UK, where you can meet us, and taste a range of interesting products including fine wines, whiskies, a large range of liqueurs, spirits, beers, ciders, perries and… even a chocolate wine!
We hold a free wine tasting in store every Saturday, where we always have a couple of bottles open for you to try, all alongside the myriad of spirits, liqueurs and whiskies always available to taste on a daily basis.
