Man Meets Mountain Malbec

“Great things are done when men and mountains meet, this is not done by jostling in the street”. The quest for higher quality has seen Argentina’s most ambitious winemakers push into the Andes foothills where the higher altitude and meagre soils produce the finest grapes. Man Meets Mountain celebrates those that face up to and conquer the challenges posed by nature and brings to you a harmonious Malbec, packed full of blueberry, blackcurrant and plum and a complex and delicious finish.

Fermented in stainless steel tanks and concrete vats the a traditional red wine fermentation with commercial yeasts, open tank pump overs and the fermentation conducted at 28ºC. 3 months spent in old french oak.

Part of the Malbec is from Vistalba and trained in a vertical training system which is drop irrigated, over aluvial soil. The rest is from Medrano, also in a vertical training system, drop irrigation over medium texture soil. The terroir and climate is desert like with a Monzonic influence.

Man Meets Mountain is one of Alliance Wines production projects in Argentina made in conjunction with their consultant winemaker Sebastian San Martin.

All goods should be examined upon receipt, and any claim for loss or breakage notified by email or telephone to Hay Wines immediately. In the case of goods delivered by couriers, unless any claim is made within 24 hours, no compensation, refund or other credit will be available. In the case of damaged goods, Hay Wines reserves the right to collect these.

If you wish to return your order due to an error on our behalf, we are happy to collect or get our courier to collect from the delivery address stated on the invoice, providing the parcel is securely packed in the same way as it was sent out. If you wish to return the parcel yourself please feel free to do so. Once the parcel has returned to us we will refund you the full amount.
