Vincent Couche Elégance Champagne NV
Vincent Couche Elégance Champagne is comprised of 84% Pinot Noir and 16% Chardonnay grapes. With more than 5 years on the lees, the wine is then disgorged with a dosage of only 5g/l resulting in an Extra Brut style with no added sulphites.
Producer
Vincent Couche manages 10 hectares of Pinot Noir in the Buxeuil and 3 hectares of Chardonnay in Montgueux in the Cote des Bar. Demeter certified using biodynamic practises since 2008, with densely cultivated vines leads to production of around 60'000 bottles a year.
"In the heart of Côte des Bar, I grow 13 hectares of vines using bio-dynamic processes (conversion in 2008).
Constantly listening to nature, I study the needs of my vines in detail, providing them with energy and well-being via concoctions, herbal remedies and silica spray...
With the help of experts, these innovative methods, subject to ongoing experimentation, are a daily rhythm from the time of pruning to harvest. Today, my terroirs express fully all their richness, during their vinification in barrels for my best wines.
The vines speak to me. I take delight in these silent, intimate conversations. I give them all my attention. I am attentive to the smallest shiver, almost imperceptible signs of the vines' impulsive mood. I have an incurable love for my land, becoming involved in the throes of its vagaries, always wanting to satisfy it and to cultivate this reciprocal love.
This fascination continues to the ultimate moment of harvest, when with one last embrace, the vine offers its clear, fresh, delicate juice as the early promise of intense happiness. In the intimacy of the cellar, it can express its best aromas and devote itself to the great day, when fame will arrive. With a sigh of satisfaction, it will die and be born again, on a new day, even more alluring than ever." - Vincent Couche
