Italy has a wider selection of wines than anywhere else in the world and uses more than 600 unique indigenous grapes to produce them. In fact, the most famous Italian wines are made from grapes that are grown only in Italy.
Wine consumers do love Italian wines for their diversity of styles, deep-rooted winemaking traditions, food-friendliness and, quite often, great value.
Classic Italian wines include Barolo, Barbaresco, Chianti Classico, Amarone and Nero d’Avola for the reds.
