Bastia Valdobbiadene DOCG Extra Dry

Bastia Valdobbiadene DOCG Extra Dry has a yellow straw colour, with fine and persistent perlage, it is incredibly pleasant with floral notes (wisteria and rose in particular) and a broad fruity bouquet.

The balanced savoury notes, slightly aromatic, are a temptation for your palate. Its elegance and delicate character make this wine one of the most loved among Spumante lovers.

Bastia winery was born in Saccol, heart of Valdobbiadene DOCG, at the feet of the Bastìa hill, the beginning of the narrow but famous zone called Cartizze.

Of small dimensions but of great prestige, the company Azienda Agricola Rebuli Michele is the fruit of 5 generations lived among these wonderful as hard hillside vineyards very steep and rugged, placed at the high about 300 mt above the sea-level.

Winemaker:

The producer has few hectares of vineyards of its property, all of them placed in the top-quality Valdobbiadene district, suitable for the Prosecco Superiore DOCG appellation.

Moreover, Bastia owns a hillside vineyard in the Cartizze area with optimal exposure at the sun, steady ventilation and sandy soil. All these elements combined together give the very best expression of the variety Glera (originally called Prosecco).

The hill of Cartizze is a 1,000-foot-high vineyard of 107 hectares (260 acres) of vines, owned only by 140 growers. The Prosecco from its grapes, of which comparatively little is produced, is widely considered to be of the highest quality, or even the "Grand Cru" of Prosecco.

According to a local legend, Cartizze grapes traditionally were harvested last, as the vines were situated on steep slopes and hard to reach, which made vintners discover that this extended ripening period improved the flavour.

Bastia takes directly care of the entire production process, from the vineyard to the cellar. Everything here is done with passion, love... and rigorously by hand!
