Description

Savoury aromas of cassis and black cherry with a hint of spicy oak. Medium bodied with appealing forest fruit flavours and fine grained tannins. Showing some attractive development with nice precision and a fine mineral backbone.

If you are looking for the latest vintage of Bordeaux, you will need to look elsewhere, as Jean-Marie Bouldy, offers very little wine in the common Bordeaux Market, instead waiting until he believe the wines is ready to drink prior to release.

Monsieur Bouldy, of Château Bellisle-Mondotte and Bellegrave fame in Pomerol - has been looking after Château Grand-Pey-Lescours since the late 1980s. This 25 hectare Grand Cru estate is based just outside of St Emilion proper. Farmed organically on clay-limestone soils, it is planted predominantly with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Grand-Pey-Lescours is arguably the definition of quality and value in Saint-Emilion - if not Bordeaux itself. Certainly worth the wait.
