Light and fresh reds, 6 wines that taste great but are also a superb value, punching well above their price.
FINE & LIGHT Red Wines case consists of one of each of the following:
1. Ponte Pietra Merlot Corvina, Veneto, Italy, £8.99 (1 bottle)
Good depth of colour and a lively, fresh perfume with notes of cherry, plum and a touch of spice. Rounded, ripe summer berry fruit on the palate with a clean, plummy finish.
2. Calusari Pinot Noir, Romania, £9.29 (1 bottle)
Soft and juicy with bags of red berry fruit and hints of vanilla. Smooth and simply easy to drink.
3. Cota Dao, Dao, Portugal, £12.29 (1 bottle)
Deep ruby in colour with berries aromas. For example: blueberries and raspberries that are moreover combined with pine notes and hints of underlining pine needle... unmissable in our FINE & LIGHT Red Wines box!
4. Bonacchi Chianti Gentilesco, Tuscany, Italy £11.99 (1 bottle)
A ruby red wine with concentrated aromas of cherry fruit. Soft and medium-bodied with a smooth, fresh fruit palate. An uncomplicated, very drinkable wine.
5. Demoiselle de Veyrac Rouge, Languedoc, France, £7.99 (1 bottle)
Deep red in colour with violet tints. The first aromas on the nose are of red and black fruits (blackcurrant and blackberry). The attack is round and voluminous followed by a surprisingly fresh and intense mid palate with fruity aromas on velvety tannins. The finish is long and persistent with more red fruit notes... unmissable in our FINE & LIGHT Red Wines box!
6. Nostros Reserva Pinot Noir, Casablanca Valley, Chile, £9.99 (1 bottle)
A smooth, fruity Pinot Noir with red cherry flavours, and a sweet, ripe fruit finish. A portion of the wine is matured in French oak barrels which adds a roundness and a hint of spice to the finished wine. A really lovely accompaniment to a roast chicken.
