La Piotta Riesling Italico
La Piotta Riesling Italico is straw yellow in colour.
It has an intense bouquet with prevailing fruity and floral notes.
On the palate it is soft, balanced, aromatic and long-lasting.
Riesling Italico probably originates from the French region of Champagne, but its origins are still not known precisely.
It is not related to the more famous German Riesling. Excellent with vegetable-based main and fish dishes.
The company was founded in 1985 by a family devoted to the world of wine for generations.
The average age of the vines currently present is about 30 years, which allows the production of white wines with intense and persistent aromas and full-bodied, well-structured red wines.
As a witness to the love for traditions and territory, nine rows of Pinot Grigio planted in 1930 still exist and produce.
The area is famous for the production of quality sparkling wines from Pinot Nero.
Over the years it grew to become a farm land of 15 hectares completely planted vineyards.
The annual production is about 70,000 bottles and the entire production cycle, from the vine to the bottle, takes place in the company and is personally taken care of by the Padroggi family.
The Padroggi family has, for generations, been dedicated to the cultivation of the vine and wine production.
The company founder, Luigi, and his sons Gabriel and Mario have dedicated their lives to the founding and expansion of the company.
Recently the third generation of winemakers joined the company: the young Enrico and Luca joined their fathers in the technical, productive and commercial parts.
Their intention is to continue the process begun by their grandfather, bringing new ideas to the company from the point of view of the image and production.
In 2013 La Piotta became part of the Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti (FIVI – Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers) that has the aim of representing and safeguarding the figure of the winemaker in relation to the institutions by promoting the quality and authenticity of Italian wines.
