Les Hauts de Perganson Haut Medoc

Les Hauts de Perganson Haut Medoc is a deep ruby red in the glass. Lush and ripe, the bouquet abounds with aromas of blackberries and cassis. On the palate, velvety tannins are balanced with excellent acidity. A delicious Bordeaux blend ready to drink now.

Les Hauts de Perganson is vinified in temperature controlled stainless steel vats with 15% of the blend put into third and fourth use barrels. The 2012 is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot.

Red wines have an exceptional sweetness, colour and tannins; this is an opulent and rich vintage, the vines are about 15 years old.

Château Larose Perganson lies in Saint-Laurent-Médoc, on the border of Pauillac and Saint-Julien, next to the Château Latour vineyards.

Here, winemaker Frank Bijon is producing a Cru Bourgeois that rivals the Classed Growths of the Médoc, and the 2009 was named one of the ‘Best value Cru Bourgeois‘ by Jancis Robinson in 2012.

Jean-Pierre du Pontet, the King‘s Council, purchased the Perganson estate at auction in 1719, which later became Pontet-Perganson when it was inherited by his youngest son.

The Larose name first appeared in the 1830s, after Henry Delaroze became the owner in 1815.

Sustainability has been key to Larose Perganson since 1999 and it is the first (and only) vineyard in Europe to have been awarded the highest Exemplary Level in Sustainable Development.

They are so dedicated to sustainability that they keep bees on their property to help the declining bee population. the hives produce around 60kg of honey per year.

The parcels used to produce the Chateau Larose ëLes Hauts de Pergansonë are in the heart of the Chateau Trintaudon estate which itself is on the borders of the Pauil ac and St Julien Appel ations, with very similar ter oirs to its neighbour
Ch‚teau Latour. The vines are about 15 years old
