Telmo Rodriguez Dehesa Gago Toro
Tasting Note
Telmo Rodriguez's Dehesa Gago is a vibrant, fruit-forward Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) from Spain's Toro region, known for its bright cherry, blackberry, and plum aromas, often with floral violet notes and hints of spice, pepper, or cocoa, offering a juicy, fresh palate with good acidity, silky tannins, and a balanced, earthy finish, making it versatile for grilled meats and stews.
Producer
Today, looking back over our history, we have realised that this company has been built on our travels, during which we have discovered a complex and unique Spain, with an amazingly rich and diverse landscape. These experiences have connected us with both ancestral and unknown viticulture and vineyards, each brimming with their own character and experience.
It’s been an emotional experience reliving how our ancestors used to work the land, moving tons of earth and stone, shaping the landscape and carving out plots and terraces that now lie practically abandoned, but which could become some of the best vineyards in the world. We have learned how they used endless combinations of different varieties to adapt to the diversity of the land and climate.
We have learned a lot. We have reflected and understood that respect for this heritage will be the foundation of all our work for the future.
