Trevethan Cornish Gin
A smooth and fragrant gin made using traditional methods. Each batch is distilled and bottled by hand with a true appreciation for the art of distillation that has been part of Cornish heritage for centuries.
"Trevethan Gin is a quality handmade gin created using our traditional family recipe perfected in the 1920s by Norman Trevethan.
Each batch is hand distilled at our craft facility in Cornwall. The small quantities that we produce help to create our unique flavour and give every batch its own signature character. Complex, with subtle hints of citrus and floral notes, our gin is made using botanicals sourced from our very own Cornish hedgerows for a true taste of Cornwall.
Trevethan Gin is bold in flavour with subtle citrus and floral notes. We use botanicals sourced from all over the globe as well as some from our very own hedgerows in the Cornish countryside.
Our recipe includes the usual suspects of Juniper, Coriander, Cassia and Angelica along with some less familiar botanicals like cardamom, orange peel, lemon peel and vanilla. The vanilla helps to leave you with a soft and oily texture on the pallet. Finally, it is finished off with the finest Cornish Elderflower and Gorse flower, handpicked from the hedgerows of Trewonnard Dairy Farm in Treneglos. The water we use comes from a natural spring on nearby farmland, the water is so soft that no mineral treatment is necessary which helps to create a truly natural flavour.
We keep things small so we ensure each bottle has its own unique character. Each batch is expertly hand-crafted in a traditional Copper-Alembic still by our In-house chemist and Head Distiller, John - exactly as it was first crafted by its creator Norman Trevethan back in the late 1920s. From the charging of the still, the measuring of the botanicals, right the way through to the filling and labelling of our bottles… it is done with love, care and our own bare hands to create a world class drink that goes as well in a G&T as it does in a Gin Martini.
We use a one-shot process which means the proportions of each botanical have been carefully calculated in order to achieve the complex flavours and smooth texture in one distillation. We insist that no blending or tweaking of the product occurs after distillation so that our customers are getting the true taste of the product as it was on the day it was made.
We just hope you will love to drink it as much as we have loved to make it!" - Trevethan Distillery
