Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon
Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful statement of Margaret River Cabernet displaying such a wonderful exotic perfumed aroma and a silky palate.
The Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon oak fruit balance is well managed with the 40% new French oak an important contribution.
Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon is so elegantly structured yet with plenty of palate power, lots of black fruits with a cedary oak influence, a lovely wine for the cellar too.
Situated in 110ha of prime Margaret River vineyards, Xanadu is also rated 5 stars by James Halliday.
Chief Winemaker Glenn Goodall believes that true quality begins in the vineyard and that winemaking is all about respecting the fruit – purely guiding the wines through to the bottle rather than ‘beating them into submission’.
Sharing the vision of the winery with owners the Rathbone family, there is an uncompromising focus on quality from the vineyard to the finished product.
SITUATED ON THE DOORSTEP OF THE MARGARET RIVER TOWNSHIP. ONE OF THE PIONEERING WINERIES OF THE REGION, ESTABLISHED IN 1977.
Creating expressive, regional wines of uncompromising quality.
Lagan Estate is located on the Xanadu property and was first planted in 1977 by Dr John Lagan, an Irishman that arrived in Margaret River nearly a decade earlier. http://www.xanaduwines.com/about-us/
The original varieties planted includes Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon, closely followed by Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Lagan Estate is a relatively flat site, with the vines rooted in a deep clay/sandy loam soil over deep gravel.
The vines use vertical shoot positioning trellising and has a total of 17 hectares under vine.
Our most revered variety from Lagan Estate is the Chardonnay which has produced Xanadu’s Reserve wine each year.
From original 1981 plantings, the low yielding Chardonnay produces a powerful and robust style of wine, with all the hallmarks of Margaret River fruit intensity.
