Borgo Selene Bianco : The Borgo Selene wines are made and blended by Alberto Antonini at the Curatolo family winery. Borgo Selene Bianco

The name Borgo Selene derives from the Greek goddess of the Moon, illustrating the influence the Greeks, who also brought the vine to Sicily, have had on the Mediterranean`s largest island.

The Borgo Selene wines are made and blended by Alberto Antonini at the Curatolo family winery, where Villa Tonino is also produced.

My father taught me to love the land and never to be discouraged but continue to make wine with passion and respect for its origin. Alberto Antonini (consultant winemaker).

Vineyards

Produced from selected grapes grown in the hilly areas in the province of Trapani in Western Sicily.

Vintage information

Winter was mild with frequent rain showers, which unusually, continued to define the spring and summer. Summertime temperatures were not excessively high, and this allowed for a longer maturation period. The moderate temperatures and a few summer showers ensured water reserves in the soil did not run short. This allowed for good development of the phenological phases resulting in stronger primary aromas.

Vinification

The grapes were fermented in stainless steel vats for 10 days at a temperature of 16 - 18°C. The wine then spent two months on its lees before being bottled.
