Chateau Laroze Grand Cru Classe Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2016
Tasting Note
Château Laroze Grand Cru Classé Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2016 reveals an inviting nose of ripe dark cherry, black plum, and a hint of cranberry, woven with subtle notes of graphite and sweet spice. The palate is plush and poised, opening with layers of juicy blackberry and mulberry, framed by fine-grained tannins and lifted by a touch of minerality and fresh acidity. Gentle oak accents—vanilla, cedar, and dark chocolate—add depth without overpowering the vibrant fruit. The finish is silky and persistent, echoing delicate herbs and espresso, as well as a whisper of dried flowers and earth. This wine embodies a harmonious balance of structure and elegance, delivering both youthful exuberance and the promise of graceful aging.
Producer
Château Laroze is a family-run Grand Cru Classé estate situated just northwest of the medieval village of Saint-Emilion, Bordeaux. The property’s story began in the early 17th century, with the Gurchy family leading the establishment of vineyards at the foot of Saint-Emilion’s iconic slopes. Through centuries of dedication, the estate evolved under the hands of successive generations, and today remains uniquely guided by the Meslin family, direct descendants of the founders.
